Medium Blood Vessel Vasculitis

Medium blood vessel vasculitis refers to conditions that mainly affect the medium-sized arteries in the body—blood vessels that are larger than the small capillaries, but smaller than the aorta and its major branches. These arteries carry blood to important organs such as the kidneys, intestines, and nerves. When inflammation occurs, it can cause narrowing or damage to these vessels, leading to reduced blood flow and organ problems. Examples of medium-vessel vasculitis include Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN) and Kawasaki Disease (KD).
